SmartAGI uses artificial intelligence to research sources, write and edit articles, translate, build the website and produce illustrations. AI systems also take part in checking references, coherence and equivalence between languages. These checks do not amount to human reading of every article.

Archived columns retain their authorship and provenance. New adaptations of an author’s writing are identified. Generated images are credited as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs. A digital representation of a person requires their permission and is identified when published.

Each article links to the sources supporting its claims. Where a reading selection relies only on an abstract, synopsis or video chapters, that scope is stated. Verified errors are corrected and substantive amendments enter the corrections record.
